ABOUT NADIA

Nadia is a seasoned casting professional with an extensive background casting both TV and feature films. She served as a staff member of the Disney Feature Film department, which covered Disney, Touchstone, Miramax and Hollywood Pictures in all of their live action casting projects. One of the highlights of her career at Disney was receiving recognition from the CSA with an Artios Award for outstanding casting achievement on “Gone, Baby Gone”, Ben Affleck’s directorial debut. Working at Disney also provided Nadia with the opportunity to work with both adults and children. She has exceptional insight with kids and possesses a unique and supportive edge to their auditions

During her six years at Disney, Nadia helped cast and oversee dozens of films, and helped conduct nationwide and international searches for some of the projects.

She had ongoing communication with studio executives, creative executives, filmmakers, directors, producers, agents and managers as well as business affairs regarding deals and contracts for the actors. Some of her credits as an in-house casting coordinator include “College Road Trip,” “Step Up 2,” “Underdog,” “Stick It,” “Mr. 3000,” “Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement,” “Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen,” “The Hot Chick” and “The Recruit.” She also assisted in overseeing the casting for “Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl,” “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest,” “Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End,” “National Treasure,” “National Treasure 2,” “The Game Plan,” “Déjà vu,” “Invincible,” “The Santa Clause 3,” “The Pacifier,” and “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe,” among others.

She began her career in television, working on both one-hour dramas and half hour comedies. She is also a veteran of the intense and fast paced world of casting for pilots. She is very experienced in reading actors at all levels of the casting process from a pre-readto a Network Test or Studio Screen Test and all the steps in-between. She knows what it ultimately takes for an actor to succeed, and has decided to devote her time to sharing that knowledge with actors of any age at any point in their career. Nadia also has a Child Performer Service’s permit through the State of California to allow her to work with children.

Nadia worked with numerous actors and actresses in the beginnings of their successful careers. Some include Rachel McAdams, Anne Hathaway, Amy Adams, Channing Tatum, Colin Farrell, Joel Edgerton, James McAvoy, Keira Knightley, Anna Faris, Selena Gomez, and Amy Ryan.

FAVORITE PART OF CASTING

Nadia’s favorite part of casting was seeing an actor book a role and satisfy the creative vision of whatever project she was working on. Discovering new talent is a huge part of why she wanted to be in casting. Enjoying the human interaction and collaboration on a role or project, and ultimately working with actors is the reason she sought out this line of work. “I have the highest respect for actors. They are constantly putting themselves on the line for the craft they love and often do not see the fruits of their hard work as soon as they may like or even deserve. There are so many factors that are out of their hands and I applaud these people that have chosen to swim with sharks to pursue what truly makes them happy. I would like to support actors by sharing what I have learned over years of very hard work in a very unpredictable industry and pay it forward.”
